Repair of CCTV Cameras

Frequently we receive calls mainly out of the small business or private sector with inquiries regarding camera repairs. Our initial desire is off course to help the customer as much as we can without incurring any high cost. After many years of trying to arrange for proper repairs we have found though, that it just does not make sense for any low cost to average cost model.
Let us have a brief look at it from the logical angle:

• Parcel Service picks up your camera
• Camera arrives at distributor (not actually manufacturer)
• Distributor assesses whether repairing or replacement is more cost effective
• Let’s keep in mind that the camera price for the national distributor is usually below 40% of the retail price... so it becomes even less likely that he will consider it for repair

Our recommendation is to send surveillance cameras back for repair only if they exceed £350.00 retail price.
Off course – if your camera breaks down within the 12 month compulsory manufacturer’s guaranty or any other extended supplier warranty – send it back. The seller is obliged to repair or offer at least an up to date or newer model at no cost.
